Going on a Carnival cruise...any advice??

Wanna play poker in the casinos and just have a good time. Family is coming with brother and family as well as his friends. Going to cozumel, belize etc...any suggestions welcome...first ever cruise!

no advice per se other than have a good time. My parents went on that exact cruise 2 weeks ago, said they had blast. Enjoy! I'm going cruising the day after Christmas, cannot wait!

I do at least one Carnival Cruise a year. If you're wanting to play poker, be ready to play the electronic machines. They don't
have any live dealers. It can still work out to be a good game, though the last cruise I went on, I had a hard time finding
enough players to keep games going.

They'll probably have one $1/$2 NL electronic poker table...

I don't play slots, but I know that VP pay tables are set around 4-5% house edge, compared to normal 1-2%. Are you cruising
out of Galveston?

Also, The BJ tables use the continuous shuffle machines, so you can't count cards either. Your best bet gambling-wise is to
get a bunch of fish around the electronic poker table.

Great cruise. DON'T PAY FOR THE DRINK PAKAGE... it is Not in your favor. Well.. unless u drink 20 beers a day yourself..

Cruises are great!! Esp. The one your on.. plenty of poker players... plenty of craps action... fun times.. go see a show.. grab some pussy... have some fun

bro,,, just did a medeteranian cruise with the wife this sept!!! GREAT time,, it was 9 days,,, its definately work to prepeare for that much time!! but a dam great time if you are ready for 9 days at sea!! lol,,, im a 5-8 drink a day guy,,, love poker,, love women, love craps/blackjack,, crusies, are great fun for me and the misses,,

Drink a good bit the first day to get used to the rocking. After that you will be fine. Make sure you catch a show they're actually pretty good on cruises.

the poker players will be bad , but the drop that the machine takes is usually quite outrageous.
a friend told me on his cruise (not carnival), the machine took 10% of EVERY BET. UFB.

If you are going to Belize city, look into cave tubing. We went last month and it was awesome!!

I've done 3 Royal Caribbean cruises and 1 Disney cruise. All 4 were great but Disney was probably my favorite (kids kids and more kids including my own). But you pay at least 3x for a Disney cruise and there is zero gambling.

I went to the casino once and it was pretty sad, played a little poker and one guy acted like he was a poker pro rest of them were normal bad players. After about an hour I realized it wasn't worth my time and rather be relaxing.
